There are three key stages (almost like trimesters!) to Maternity Coaching.  These can work as additions to each other or may be taken as stand alone stages in the coaching process:

Before the Bump - 'Pregnancy - Stage 1'

Here we concentrate on your new role as an expecting mother and help you to realise and voice any concerns, fears or anxiety that you may have.  Preparation is the key to a successful handover at work and Maternity Coaching at this stage will help you to leave your responsibilities at work and not take them with you when you finish up!  Maternity Coaching here also allows you to get some perspective on what you want out of the birth experience and prioritising what is important to you in the first few weeks of your new arrival.

Beautiful Beginnings - 'Maternity leave - Stage 2'
After the first few whirlwind weeks have been and gone, some mothers find themselves looking for something, but not knowing what this is.  A sense of ' is this it?' can easily creep up, especially for mothers that have been used to working full time in high profile careers before the birth.  Some mothers are also struck by the realisation that they should have done this a long time ago and want to enjoy and experience everything this time has to offer.

Maternity Coaching at this stage will help you adapt to your new life as a mother and enable you to get what you want out of your maternity leave.  No one expects this to be an easy stage and there are often a number of options open to new mothers that coaching can help them to explore.

Beyond the Bump - 'Establishing your new identity and life - Stage 3'
For some, the return to work after a period of maternity leave can be a welcome blessing or for others a curse.  Realising that you have to make a number of choices that affect not only yourself but also your new family can be a daunting prospect.  Maternity Coaching at this stage, helps you to establish what you want from a career.  Do you want to work full time, part time, for yourself or take a career break and become a Stay At Home Mum (SAHM)?

Building strong networks (with other mothers / groups / childcare providers) and realising how to fit your new reallity into your exisitng lifestyle can all be complemented by Maternity  Coaching.  Also coaching at this stage can often be a sounding board for those that have already been at work for a number of months but are finding that it does not meet their expectations.
